Poem 6

You turn your eyes toward me and I,
feel my heart turn deep inside.
Did someone free the butterflies?
Around you, I feel my pulse rise.

How could I, Who made stars above,
Be so captured by such a love,
For you, my rose, my lily sweet?
Oh for you, Hell I would defeat.

I'm begging for your hand, be mine.
And we shall love till end of time.
Would I have less than all of you?
No, for my answer is, "I do."

Please do not go to other loves,
My greif would shake the sky above.
But even if my grief ensue,
My answer always is, "I do."

Your other loves, how I despise,
Can you not see it in My eyes?
They snatch away my time from you,
And now my answer's, "I still do,"

All for you I sent my prized Lamb,
You're faithless to the great I AM,
My heart is wrenched, my spirit slew,
My core, it screams out, "I still do,"

My voice is hoarse, can you hear me?
I'm waving still, can you not see?
My breath is short, your times are few.
I'm shouting, shouting, "I still do,"

And just when hope seems so far lost,
You finally recognize your cost.
The words I've longed to hear from you,
Are realized as you say, "I do,"

My heart rejoices, My soul sings!
My love, come rest under my wing,
You once were lost, but not you're found!
And now you'll be no longer bound.

I know your heart, I know you'll leave,
But in you, my great love I weave.
Every time, you'll come back home,
But this you always have to know.

No matter when, no matter what,
No matter how or whom you've cut,
You are My lily, rose of few,
My answer always, "I still do,"

  1. sarah, i miss your writings. this one pierces me. you're gifted girl! how is it that so many months have passed without another writing? don't waste your time on foolish, time-stealing things, but, go back to purpose-filled, anointed moments where God shows Himself off through you! i'm proud of you! love, mom
